TIF book

I have finished putting together the book that I made from my TIF crazy patchwork squares.
I put a border around each square to make them all a uniform size because somehow in the making the squares did not all finish up the same size.
Each set of pages has a piece of pellon between them to give them support.
When the pages were all finished I laced them together at the spine and then added silk ribbon and fibers to the lacing.
The stitching on the cover says " TIF 2008"-- if you click on the image it is easier to read.
The pages are in order of the months that they were done.

The photos are very bright because I took them outside in the sunshine .
I am really pleased with how the book has come together and I have enjoyed this years challenge very much.
This is the second year that I have completed Sharon's challenge and I am looking forward to the new challenge next year.
Thank you Sharon.

Wow Doreen, what a fabulous book, very impressed that not only did you make the whole years challenge but you have it bound into a book before the years end.

Me too - impressed that is :)
It looks brilliant and I do admire you for seeing both challenges all the way through - I fell at the first hurdles on both of them. :(

Love the photo in the other blog entry.
You really must try and do something with this one.

What an amazing project! Well done! I'd have trouble picking a favorite page from that book. They're all so beautiful. I'm looking forward to see what you do this coming year.

Well done!!!!!!!! Your book is stunning! I still have to finish the blocks for Nov & Dec, which is the first thing on my list. I'm aiming to finish my quilt by the end of January.

Doreen, the book is beautiful.

I was in a quilt square exchange and thought about doing the same with my squares, but wasn't sure how to bind it. Would you mind sharing you technique with me?

Wow, what a great idea to do with the blocks and the book is fantastic. Also love the leaf picture.

Janet -- you asked how I bound my book--I used a technique from the book "Fabric Art Journals" by Pam Sussman.
On page 107 she gives instructions for the technique using French Stitch.
As I have no way of contacting you Janet I have answered your question here.
Regards Doreen

It looks fantastic Doreen, and isnt it interesting the way the various colours that Sharon gave us came together. My page is almost finished but getting it into book form will have to be my early January task.

I can vouch for the beauty of this book, because I've seen it IN THE FLESH ! I got to visit with Doreen in Canberra after Christmas and she showed me the finished book. The photos do NOT do it justice, it's stunning !! I'm considering seriously to take Sharon B.'s Encrusted Crazy Quilting Joggles class to learn how to make such beautiful blocks myself.

Thanks again Doreen,
Hooroo,

It really does look absolutely amazing Doreen - I would just love to see it for real, and be able to touch it (with permission of course!) - lucky Christine to have seen it.

Doreen - it looks fabulous and having seen the individual pieces I know the photos do not do the work justice at all. I am really looking forward to seeing the finished book.
