More photos from yesterday

Here are some more of the photos that I took yesterday on our picnic outing.
The first one is of the old church--if you click on the photo you can get a better look at the rusted bell and peeling paint.

Next is the old gate outside the church--the chicken wire was just there for no apparent reason-but then there may have been a reason at one time.

The peeling paint on the window sills of the church.

I said in the previous post that there was an old brick wall but actually it is a stone wall.
This was an old shed--probably stables in the past.

Finally this rusted can which actually had a tree in it struggling to survive.
Now if I could just wrap some fabric around it and leave it for a few days -----------

I should get some inspiration from some of these photos.

Great photos! I especially like the rusted can and, like you, I'd love to wrap some fabric around it.

The peeling paint and rust are fantastic! I love old, aged surfaces like that.

Yes Doreen - lots of inspiration there, especially with the peeling paint and the rusty can. And what a lovely colour blue in the sky on the gate photo.

I keep an eye on your blog and this time thought I would comment...your pictures could have been taken in Ontario, Canada.. I guess we share some geneological background. Here, the chicken wire would be to keep out the rabbits, I think ( or, maybe Deer)..in your case, the 'Roos?
Thanks for sharing.

Doreen - it was a great day and your photo and comment on the gate without a fence was just perfect. Suzanne

Doreen,
Thank you for your comments about Serena's poem. It certainly touched our hearts.
She is one clever child that is doing extremly well at music and is doing Grade 6 in music exams...for someone that young it is a huge acheivement.
Thanks for you interest in my blog site...very heartening!
