July Postcard for Sharon

Here is my very pink July Calendar Girls postcard for Sharon.
Seeing as I have just finished the embellisher course with Dale at the Thread Studio I decided to use my newly acquired skills to do this months postcard.
I started with a piece of white commercial felt and added a layer of fine wool prefelt- then a pink chiffon scarf that I had picked up at the op-shop.
I embellished this all together then cut out a vase from a left over piece that I had hand felted previously and then embellished this onto the base.
Next I did the gold stitching across the vase.
I made the flower from some felted wool fiber that I had and held it all together with a few stitches then I attached it to the card and added the yellow centre.
Finally I added some hand stitched green leaves and blanket stitched around the edge.

I have sent this to Sharon and I hope she will like it.

There's no stopping you with that embellisher now! I don't know if I will ever get an embellisher, but I can see you're having a lot of fun with it.

This is so pretty Doreen, I can't wait to get in the flesh.
It's great to read the process too and your blanket stitch edging is a real treat.

It's gorgeous Doreen - hope I get to be as proficient as you with the embellisher, one day!

Sharon will be 'in the pink' when she gets this *LOL*
Great idea for the edging - nice change from zig-zag stitch.

I am sure Sharon will love it Doreen. You have certainly been using the skills you have learnt in Dale's class beautifully. Very clever of you to use a chiffon scarf too!
