Embellisher class week 6

Finally I have something to show for week 6 of the Embellisher workshop with Dale at the The Thread Studio.
I have called this piece Bollywood Magic--Bollywood--mainly because of the colours and the magic part is because one of the things we were asked to do was make a magic carpet.
I love these colours and I based them on the Marakesh colours by Colourstreams which Dale sells.
The base is commercial felt--on which I lay strips of Sari silk and scrim and lightly embellished them together.
I then put a grid of Funky Felted Fibers and lightly embellished these down---next came a black chiffon scarf and then I embellished the lot together.
After that was done I added some wool yarns and finally some hand stitching in Marakesh silk thread.
At present this is just the base fabric but I intend to make it into a wall hanging.
Somewhere in the bowels of my work room I know that I have some Indian coins that I purchased from Dale probably 10 years ago and when or should I say if I find them they will also be added.
The size of the piece is 33cm x 41 cm.
Almost caught up----sigh---

This is beautiful Doreen! I'm sure the colours keep you warm when it's cold outside :-)

Love that piece Doreen, I am starting the next embellisher course with Dale in a couple of weeks' time, and I am determined to keep up with this one. I have given up on my online journal class forthe moment, just keeping all the modules to do later on. Glad the frost is down there with you and not here! Cheers, Robin

Suffering from a heat wave here at the moment, but frost is worse!! Your Bollywood Magic is stunning. I like the colours, and it will be a very special wall hanging.

Love the piece. Can't wait to see what you do further to it. Okay I must be the only one that doesn't know what "Bollywood" means. This is the second time today I have come across it.

Love the name you chose for this piece. The colors warm my heart (as you do dear friend). Am sure the Indian coins will look perfect on it when you find them!
