Toggle 1

When is a button not a button?
When it is a toggle..............
This is the latest in our "Buttons and More" class with Karen and I think I am in love with these.
I have again used the pink and white theme and I hope in the end I will have a fabulous display to arrange on a small wall quilt or whatever I decide to display them on--I keep changing my mind.
I have used the pink and white cotton gingham and pink broder cotton but I am running out of this beautiful fabric so I must use it sparingly from now on.

This is the last week of the class and I will be dissappointed when it finishes.

I have learned so much from this..not so much about embroidery but about myself and how I approach what I do.

There is more to embroidery than working on doylies etc. and I had forgotton what pleasure

it gives me to do beautiful delicate work.

Thanks Karen for guiding me back to a love that I had many years ago.

Hi Doreen, I have just looked at your button journey. They are beautiful. It certainly pays to revisit the things we learnt and loved previously. The proof is in the pudding seeing this work. Please excuse the reference to your mishap with the Christmas pudding, but I am so glad you were not seriously burnt. It would have given you a terrible fright.

Such a dear little toggle and how lovely that you have gained so much from the class, aside from furthering your needlework skills.

I have just caught up with your last few posts, the buttons are gorgeous, I can imagine you will be sorry to finish the journey. I am glad you survived the pudding accident - I haven't even thought about christmas yet! Cheers.

Oh crazy, a second look and I see that it is not bullion but spider....? Excuse me.

"more to embroidery than working on doyleys"...LOL! That made me laugh out loud, thinking of how creative you are, and how I'm not! Well I'm improving I guess, but I still love stitching my doilies (grinning)!

I might like the toggle best of all the buttons you've made recently. It's like a little bead.

That is the nicest toggle that I have ever seen. I am so glad that the class has brought you so much pleasure and re-fired your enthusiasm.
