Here we have a lovely crochet doylie and several pieces of bridal lace and then the piece on the top left hand side is felt.
In this lot the red is the more dominant colour.
You can see here that the yellow and the red are equal in colour---
Now the colours are more apricot-with the yellow now starting to take over--
Finally the silk ribbon and the Perle 5 threads-notice the darke red one.
Another bag had Fuschia and Turquoise Procion dyes in it.
This is all the bits of silk ribbon-threads and laces that came out-aren't the gorgeous.

You have been having fun.
What is the composition of the felt? Is it stuff you have felted yourself or bought?
If only I had time, I am trying to get some stuff rusted. I need some more dyed fabric but it will have to wait.
Absolutely amazing Doreen and such lovely subtle colours as well as rich ones. What a wonderful mixed 'bag' you created. Sounds as if you're gonna get hooked!
sounds like you are over your 'must measure' fear and well and truly having fun. You only have to be precise if you ever want to precisely repeat what you did last time. I think most of your stuff you will want one off things so you don't have to be precise about it - fantastic to see what you have been doing see you tomorrow and hugs
Oooh stop it Doreen, you have started me drooling again.
Lovely! Don't you just love to dye ribbon and thread? I think the gradation and unevenness give it such life. Adds so much to your projects.
I am so loving the feast of colors you are presenting here! The textures...oh my! I truly feel myself being pulled towards dye. Yesterday while fingering some white lace your experiments popped into my head....and I went running to see if I had the right dyes.....oh dear I didn't :( But...well there are other things in my studio that might work!
Creativity on......
These are goregous Doreen, i love the unpredictability of it, no mistakes just beautiful color..jenxo
You have some great results here!
You must be thrilled with the results of your dyeing Doreen. The colours you have achieved in this post and the previous one are just gorgeous. Looking forward to seeing what you do with all those lovely bits and pieces.
You're having waaaay too much fun!! I just can't get over all the different colors you're able to get from this process. It's amazing and oh, so beautiful.
Oh my goodness Doreen! Your dyeing is gorgeous. Love all the different colors. It does look like you have been having lots of fun. Wish we lived closer so we could do some dyeing together. Yummy stuff.
Dot xoxo
I can answer that question - definitely it's to dye! Great experiments Doreen & it's obvious you're having fun. Look forward to seeing the green.
Doreen, dyeing is fun isn't it? Once you get over the "everything in the house must go in the dye pot" stage. I well remember dyeing as a teenager, everything including my undies went into the maroon dyepot as I didn't want to waste the made up mix !! That was long before zip lock bags, didn't think of saving it for another day. BTW feedjit live traffic feed has me living in Guildford Victoria, happens all the time, but you know it's me, right??
Hooroo,
Christine in Guildford NSW
