Back in March I started to make a crazy patchwork armchair caddy and as you can see I pinned on some embellishments to see how it would look.
Later I started to do some stitching on the seams but I just wasn't enjoying what I was doing so it got put in the too hard basket.
Earlier this week I decided to chop it up and I cut out 4 heart shapes to make some small heart shaped pillows to sell at the Guild exhibition.
I finished the embroidery and added a piece of ribbon to each one and bingo now I am happy.
Below are two of them- they are 14cm high by 10cm wide and I think they look pretty nice.

I love making hearts and these look absolutely gorgeous.
They look so lovely Doreen, so much niceer than armchair caddies!
Those little hearts are gorgeous Doreen - I couldn't bear to part with them if I had made them.
I love the fact that you have a 'too hard' basket. The little hearts are just gorgeous and I agree with Heather, I wouldn't be able to part with them.
Gorgeous Doreen! They should go like hot cakes.
I've never heard of a 'too hard' basket - what a great term!! So much nicer than UFOs. Gorgeous little hearts Doreen and a great rescue from the too hard pile!
I'm sure they'll be snapped up like crazy! They are so cute!
Those are so great. Look at all that wonderful stitching. I'd buy em!
They're just gorgeous Doreen!
Fancy YOU of all people having a "too hard basket"!!
I'm so glad they didn't get into File 13 by mistake!! lol
Sometimes we just have to do that - walk away and bingo a light bulb moment!
I definitely couldn't part with those - I must try and make some one day.
Take care
Shane
Too hard basket must be another Australianism, Doreen! I often use that term! I guess the craft equivalent is the UFO box, lol!
It is a great idea to make something else up, using what you had originally discarded. The hearts are beautiful - should sell within minutes of appearing on a table!
You shouldn't make such gorgeous stuff - you'll only have to make twice as much next year cos they sold out so fast!!
Wish I could have visited the exhibition - you have a buyer here!!The hearts are beautiful.
The hearts are beautiful Doreen!
The hearts are lovely.
These are beautiful I can see why you are so pleased, and what a great way to make use of something that wasn't working for you in the way you originally planned
