Hedebo Rings

I made several Hedebo rings to add to this section of block 3 to balance the pink colour out a bit.
I have had two Hedebo sticks for several years now and never used them because I didn't know how-so I Googled it and the information was right there on youtube.
I think they have done the trick here.

I then decided to do a few more to add elsewhere on the other blocks but I did a couple of extra rounds of Buttonhole stitch around the outer edge and I have now got a lace edge.
The smallest one on the left is what it is like on it's own and measures 1 cm edge to edge.
The big one on the right measures 2cm edge to edge and has the two rows of Buttonhole stitch on the edge.

This is what a Hedebo stick looks like-you wind the thread around the section that you want to make the size ring and then you Buttonhole over the threads--easy peasy.

Now I am going to make heaps more and have them on hand when I need them.

doreen, I love the hedebo rings on the work they just add that zingy something, and being pink are as you say add a balance in the colour.

I have a hedebo stick that I bought when I was doing Casalguidi emb, and have used it to make rings for various things. have you tried joining them together on the stick.

Love the hedebo rings Doreen and adding an extra buttonhole edging gives quite a different look. Making a stock of them is a great idea.

The hebedo rings are great. What a wonderful source of information the internet is, no stopping you now.

Are they the same as the Corinne sticks Dale had?
Not sure if the spelling is correct.

Never heard of this before, but great idea, and I like the result. I've done buttonhole stitch onto the plastic rings, and then tatted on from there for a nice ring. I'll have to keep an eye out for those sticks.

I've never heard of hedebo rings until today. Now that I see them I like them. And google is my go-to for anything I don't know about. I find out all sorts of things by doing a google search.
