Sashiko 2

I have finished the second piece of Sashiko embroidery and I am pleased with the outcome.
Well it is not hard to do seeing as the design is already printed on the fabric but believe it or not I think I did half as much unpicking as I did stitching.
I kept seeing stitches that were crooked and so the reverse stitching process would have to happen.
I found working on the dark background harder on my eyes than working on the white one.
Even though Sashiko is just running stitch I didn't find it boring because of the rhythmic movement that I had going.
The only problem now is after 2 weeks of hand stitching my hands (especially my thumbs) are telling me enough is enough.
I'll have a few weeks break ---------and---

----then I will have a look in the UFO box and see what else I can find.

I love this piece Doreen. Of course I'm partial to blue, but the stitching is really nice. You're inspiring me to get working on my coat!!

Doreen I love this piece...that central pattern (not sure what it is called) is my favourite. I love the blue background in this piece.

Thanks so much for your email too, the information was much appreciated.

Rest those hands and look forward to seeing what you are up to next.

This pattern is lovely Doreen. It always surprises me how the simplest of techniques can be so difficult to get perfect. I suppose that it's very simplicity shows up any irregular stitches or alignments. From your photo it looks as if you've done a first rate job - worth a bit of unpicking to get it right.

It appears to be a very simple design but I can see there was a lot of time, love and attention gone into this pretty piece!

Lovely stitching Doreen, this is a beautiful pattern and colours. I did a sashiko purse a few years ago and found it very relaxing to stitch.
