Shopaholics

Today was Ebony's school fete and to say she had a great day was an understatement.
There were stalls selling a variety of goods--cakes--lollies--second hand books--small gifts and more plus the usual rides and jumping castles etc.
But did she spend any money at any of these stalls-- no way Hose`.
She met up with her 2 best friends Erin and Eve (the three E's) and they hit the White Elephant stall.
For those who don't know what a White Elephant stall is--it sells second hand bric a brac.
They all scored a pair of sunglasses (50c ea) and a handbag($1.ea) some fluffy bears ($1 ea.)
Ebony also got a purse($1) some pens and a note book and a few more things that she had in the bottom of the bag but the best of all was the cage she is holding to carry her Guinea Pig in ($2).
Between them they had 6 bags of stuff and you can tell by the look on Ebony's face that she was rather pleased with her loot.
Now if she would only expect such treasures for Christmas and forget about all the electronic stuff she has on her wish list I would feel a lot happier.

This is great - so young and yet already learning how to shop for the best bargains. Way to go girls!

great bargains. the ladies who ran our white elephant stall this year were greedy and priced everything too high - and were left with piles of stuff at the end of the day (stoopids). our kids spent all day on the rides - because we bought armbands for unlimited rides and wanted to get our moneys worth!

If you could sell those smiles you'd be a billionaire! Ebony is beautiful and her smile just lights up her face. You are a lucky grandma!!

Ebony looks like she had a great time. Guinea pig straw is great for the garden (we have two).
Claudia had her school fete last week to raise money for the 'missions' and the school's sponsor child in Africa. She cleaned out her cupboard, taking a big box for the 'Trash and treasure' stall her grade was in charge of. Luckily she didn't bring home as much as she donated!

Ebony looks very pleased with herself and a much better way to spend your money than on sweets, great she is learning to look for a bargain.
