Not a Happy Chappy

I was always under the impression that if you subscribed to a magazine you would receive it before it hit the newsagents--after all the supplier already has your money. Late last year I subscribed to the CPS magazine for 12 months and the sub started with the January/Feb magazine which I should have received at the beginning of January. Unfortunately it arrived 3 weeks late much to my annoyance. Now I am still waiting for my second issue which was due out at the beginning of March and it is the 31st of March today and still no show. I had subscribed for 2 years to this magazine when it was first issued and I did have similar issues with it but never this late. I had hoped this problem would have been solved by now but obviously not. My point is are other people in Australia or other parts of the world having the same problems or is it just me.
I do know one thing --I will never subscribe to magazines from these people again--never ever.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Having the same problem Doreen... I subscribed at the end of December so thought they would start with the March issue most likely... haven't received that yet either... hoping it will come soon because I love the mag... just not the wait...

Yikes....that's long overdue! No wonder you're upset. I would be too.

I know exactly how you feel. It happens to me with a mag called 'Workbox' every time and I get so annoyed.
Looks like you had a great time in the shop with Dale - lucky you. :)

Oh Dear! You do sound rather grumpy this morning! I reckon it is something to do with the mailing people in Australia. I get mine from a Mailing Consortium in England, and if they don't get it then I don't. Perhaps you could contact the people in Australia who receive a big batch and send it on to you (assuming that is what happens!) I do hope you're feeling more 'sweetness and light' now - not like you at all to be grumpy!

im waiting too Doreen. at first it was always early but for my friend down the road it came 3 weeks after mine. i complained in Jan and they sent me free copy but then i recieved two a week apart !
i think its wrong too when you subscribe and its in the newstands before you get it...... such a lovely mag too...

There is a shop a few miles from us here in the UK which sells CPS and the last couple of times I've tried to buy it they've not received the latest issue. It seems to be a worldwide problem, but no less infuriating. I agree with you about subscriptions - if you've paid up front you should get each issue on time. Perhaps they have distribution problems - hope your copy turns up soon.

I find that sometimes I don't get my issues until after they're on the newstands too (and I'm in Canada). On the other hand I know they do get here eventually and I hopefully won't miss any issues which I can easily do by buying them in the stores - they sell out fast.

I had troubles with another magazine: Quilting Arts. We complained and complained several times - finally two magazines arrived (in Germany) and moreover I got an extension of one month. So we are very satisfied and I am going on with my subscription. I think it was very nice of those people. Errors can happen.

We have these same issues right here in the US with Interweave Press! I can remember Dale R (The Thread Studio) way down in Perth mailing out issues of CPS to her clients a week before my own copy showed up...and I am just a one day drive from Interweave!

This is why Dale's (The Thread Studio) service for both CPS & QA is so brilliant! I would never bother subscribing when you can have a standing order with Dale who generally gets the magazines very quickly after publication. Dale is always very good at getting them in the mail fast! Prices are very reasonable too.

I'm in Ontario Canada and did not get my last issue until well after the shops had it. I've decided not to renew my subscription and pick it up at the shop if I feel it's worth reading.

I certainly hope the right people are reading these comments Doreen! The amount we pay for subscriptions and postage they should arrive right from the printer!
Sounds like you had a great week away tho.

I've had similar problems too Doreen. My answer is to cancel my subscriptions and do without. I spend the money I save on things that I really want instead.
