What have I been doing?

I was given a huge amount of cotton patchwork fabrics late last year for the guild to either sell on the recycle table or use to make items for sale.
I decided to use it in the beginning to make things and have been busy making samples of small items that we can sell on the sales table at the annual exhibition in September.
The small bag can be used to put potpouri in or it can be a gift bag or even a bag to place jewelry in when you go on holidays.
The larger bag is a shoe bag(or as my daughter calls it a "shoe sleeper".
Both bags are lined in cotton--the embroidery is worked on a cotton/linen blend cream fabric and then stitched onto the check fabric by hand in running stitch.
I have to run these past the sub committee on Monday to see if they like them and then we need someone to step forward and make a few.
We are going to provide the fabrics needed to make each bag plus the threads etc.

The other ladies on the sub committee are making thing as well for us to use.
We have to design all the things ourselves so that we don't infringe copyright.
My daughter showed me one shoe bag that came with her fancy smansy expensive shoes that she has and I did measure the bag to get the right size and then I drew the S on the cream fabric and proceeded to embroider it.
I had made some lavender bags several years ago so I just continued to use the same shape as before.
I embroidered some simple flowers- mainly because I was too lazy to do too much work on them.
What do you think?
Will people buy them?

These are darling. I love your embroidery. I think it is a great idea...I always end up putting my shoes in a plastic grocery bag. Would be nicer to have a washable cloth bag.

These bags are so pretty Doreen - I'm sure people will buy them. They'd make lovely little gifts and as they are useful as well as pretty that makes them even more appealing.

They certainly would buy them. I would. They would make good gifts for any occasion.

They definitely get a 'yes' from me.

They are sweet bags Doreen and I don't see why they wouldn't sell. The embroidery adds such a special touch.

They look lovely Doreen, and I'm sure people will buy them. Our guild exhibition is early next year, and I have huge bundles of lavender drying in the shed, so I my just copy your good ideas - hope you won't mind! Thanks a heap for being such a great blog reader too, it is much appreciated. Sue McB

I think they will sell whether for the use you speak of or something in someone elses mind. Even the large one would make a great gift holder. I think this is a great idea.

Of course they will sell Doreen. I still have shoe bags I made for my trousseau (?) when I was married and they come out every time we pack to go away! The lavender bag looks great too - now everyone will need to have busy fingers stitching. Cheers, Robin

I don't think there's any doubt! I'd much rather use a nice cloth bag for my shoes instead of the plastic grocery bag I usually use!
