More Beads

I am still in the process of making beads for the Creative Group which meets at the Guild once a month.
This time I have used Silk fabric from a Sari Silk Bundle which I purchased from the Thread Studio.
The colour is called Kimberly Dreaming which is one of my favourite colours that they sell.
The fabric comes in bundles of strips of fabric that are unusual widths and either tied or stitched together-in fact they look like they have been cut with a blunt bread knife but this all adds to the beauty and character of these bundles.
I rolled strips of fabric on a skewer and then I wrapped either thread or wire around them-some of them have added beads as well.

When the bundle arrived it was rolled in a hank which I unwrapped and ironed --which took me over an hour-but it was worth it.

I am going to make some other embellishments from this fabric which I will show you later.

Don't you just love the colours?--I do.

Absolutely gorgeous Doreen!! I am feeling like making more of my own beads again, after a little break from doing them. I have just received the exact colourway from Dale, as well as a pinky/goldy one, but have not ironed mine yet. They feel so beautiful.

Doreen,
I just got back from vacation and trying to get caught up. I am glad I did not miss seeing your beads. What keeps them from collapsing when you remove them from the skewer? I have never made beads like this, but I do have some tyvek I will making some with soon.
