Beads

At the next Creative group of the Embroiderers Guild we are making beads----
All different types of beads----
Fabric ones-Tyvek ones-wire ones-you name it we are going to make some from it.
I have been making samples for the demonstration and here are some of them.
The ones in the front are made from table napkins which feel and look like fabric but in fact they are paper--the chunky ones are actually made from Tyvex which I painted and then hit them with the heat gun.
There are ones wrapped with wire and some are just wire wrapped over and over a skewer to give them bulk and shape.

I still have a lot more to make out of other "stuff"--it's all in the learning.

Made from a napkin?? Who'd have thought... these are wonderful. I just completed a fabric/paper bead swap at Creative Lenna's website. If you web search her, you'll find some posts about all the different beads the 20 or so participants sent her. More ideas for you students after your demo. Keep us posted on what they make.. look forward to seeing yours and their work. Have fun!

All these beads look so beautiful. I love the way the colors seem to blend into each other...and the bits of gold and sparkle just add another layer of yummy goodness.

Great selection you've made Doreen, and all so colourful. I've just fished mine out to go on a project I'm working on at the moment. Hope you continue to have fun experimenting.
